Simple Chicken & Stars Soup

  • 2 tbsp Gustare Vita olive oil
  • 1 cup carrot, chopped
  • ¾ cup celery, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Hy-Vee all-purpose flour
  • 1 (32-oz.) container Hy-Vee 33% less sodium chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • ¾ tsp Hy-Vee onion powder
  • ½ tsp Hy-Vee garlic powder
  • ½ tsp Hy-Vee ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp Hy-Vee salt
  • ¾ cup Colavita stars pasta, dry
  • 2 cups Hy-Vee Kitchen shredded rotisserie chicken
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Hy-Vee dried parsley flakes
Add Ingredients to Cart


Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add carrot and celery. Cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Stir in flour.
Gradually stir in chicken broth and water. Add onion and garlic powders, black pepper, and salt. Bring to a boil; stir in pasta. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in rotisserie chicken, lemon juice, and parsley flakes. Simmer 2 minutes more or until pasta is tender. Lent stand 15 minutes for soup to thicken slightly before serving.
